As a teenager in the 60s, Jacobsohn attended the Henry Street Settlement Movie Club on the Lower East Side of New York, where he created several award-winning 16mm shorts. They have screened at the Museum of Modern Art and Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and at such festivals as Oberhausen, Germany; Tribeca Film Festival, New York; and Punto de Vista, Pamplona, Spain. The Reserve Film and Video Collection of the NY Public Library has archived these early works in their Youth Film Collection.
